I keep writing articles in my mind which I never post. It's just so tiring living here, and it's been around 100-degrees every day now for about three months. It just drains me. I meant to travel to the beach over Christmas but was too tired to fight the hassle of traveling in Africa, so I just sat around the house swealtering. I'm really looking forward to coming home in July. I still love it here and wouldn't mind finding a regular job for one of the aid agencies, but I'm really, really tired and want to come home for a rest and to see everyone. Please say "hi" to Dave and all the kids. They are probably all so big by now! I cannot wait to show them photos of African kids. None of us has any appreciation for how incredibly lucky we were that our souls were born where they were until you come to Africa and see how the other half lives. Thanks for the Christmas wishes!! Just want you to know you are in my daily prayers, and I continue to marvel at your willingness to give so much of your time and talent. May 2012 bring you grace and peace.
Shalom,
VickiVickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02484651953969367681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450547326423135862.post-59622167560720033762011-12-21T19:23:24.042-08:002011-12-21T19:23:24.042-08:00This post hit home with me, as we labor over which...This post hit home with me, as we labor over which clothing items to donate, who wants these clothes? People who need them of course. This was funny to read, Larry, because I have donated those clothing items. The reunion, the sporting events, the porn star in training... yes even that. Ok, mine was not pink!

How are you doing? I just happened to catch this post on the day you posted. We have had a busy day (when is it not busy?). We just visited with one set of grandparents and my mom is here. My dad passed away this October so we are adjusting. Christmas is closing in. Our life is so different here during this time. We had a party with 99 people a few weeks ago, now we are finishing shopping for the 7 kids, they just finished up school and will be watching tv and playing video games alot during break. I am so aware of how much they take for granted as their lives are so different than when we were growing up. Let alone from the life you see there. Teenagers have such a one-sided view on life. Their view. When can I go out? Can I have some money? Teach me to drive. Take me there.

I will try to take more time to read your posts. I hope you are doing well, and you find that elusive t-shirt you are looking to own!

Take some more time for tea. I'd like to have tea with you and I'm sure your friends would too. Have a Merry Christmas! Thanks for your post. <3

Sheryl (and all)Sherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04858358078629952968noreply@blogger.com
